Google My Maps: Visualizing Your Ancestors' Lives
Attendees will learn how to use Google My Maps, part of the Google app package, to visualize their ancestors’ lives. They will learn the difference between Google Earth Pro and Google My Maps. They will learn how to track migration patterns, plot where ancestors lived, and sort out same-named individuals. Visually seeing locations placed on a map can help attendees decide which information and documents are plausible and which are questionable.
Linda Debe is a lecturer, writer and lifelong student with 40 years of genealogy experiences. She has many genealogy passions, but maps and land records are her favorite topics. The love of maps and land records developed after taking a few map courses and attending a few free maps webinars. She has spoken to numerous genealogy audiences and has a YouTube channel where she creates short how-to videos.
Access will be through GoToWebinar. Instructions and Connectivity Link will be forwarded via email to all registrants upon registration, six days prior and again 1 hour prior to the event. Making the connection is quick and easy only requiring a computer and Internet connectivity from wherever you chose to watch the event. Your questions help drive the meetings, and we will be there to help each other.
